Mike holds a role of Chief Operations Officer at Palta, covering all operating activities of the company. Prior to this he gained a wealth of experience across investment projects at Target Global, Sozvezdie Capital, Da Vinci Capital and Arbor Ventures.
Mike holds a Master's in Physics and an MBA from INSEAD Business School.

1. What do you do at Palta?
My area of responsibility covers finance, investments, legal and HR here at Palta, as well as the coordination of those operational activities across our portfolio companies.
2. How can you personally help companies?
My team essentially fulfills the role of COO and CFO at the early stage of a portfolio company's development. The aim is to free up the CEO to focus on the most critical element at this stage: identifying the correct product-market fit. Once the project moves to the growth stage, we take a step back to concentrate on making sure operations run as smoothly as possible.
3. What is unique about Palta's business approach?
For me it's vast experience in launching, running and scaling consumer mobile apps, combined with full involvement in the day-to-day operations of our portfolio companies. This allows us to deliver a lot of value to our companies, but in a very different way compared to traditional VCs or incubators and accelerators.
4. How do you see the future of Palta and its portfolio companies?
I see a diversified tech company, developing mobile apps focused on well-being and used by hundreds of millions of people around the world. Our success depends on the success of our portfolio companies and so we are working hard to create as many unicorns as possible.
5. Your hobby is jazz music. Are there any similarities in playing jazz and running a company?
Absolutely. While jazz is primarily all about improvisation, it is still based on a certain theme. A great jazz band just has to know the theme to create a brilliant performance that enthralls the audience, figuring out the details as they go. A similar thing happens in business. You never know what challenges you might have to face in the future, but a well-aligned A-level team will be capable of improvising to stay on track and create something beautiful.
