Liza is the Talent Acquisition Manager at Palta. She is constantly searching for top candidates to join our portfolio companies as key executives and consultants. Before joining Palta, Liza gained a wealth of experience as Executive Search Consultant at Yandex and Lead Consultant at Marksman Recruitment Solutions.
1. What is your role at Palta?
My goal is to identify and attract leading candidates for our portfolio companies. I tend to focus on C-level professionals, but also work on hard-to-close positions when necessary.
2. What are the most important criteria when hiring a candidate?
I think it is the balance of hard and soft skills. While it is quite challenging to evaluate soft skills from an interview or two, I try to ask candidates the questions that help to open them up. It is very individual, but totally worth it.
3. How do you personally help companies?
Well, I help our portfolio companies find the right team members for their specific requirements. But co-founders and team leads can always reach out to me for market analytics, salary comparisons, trends, and any other matters related to recruitment.
4. What is your ultimate advice to founders?
Listen to the opinions of recruitment and HR experts when hiring. Needless to say, the final decision is made by the founder or the lead, but I always try to provide a complete analysis of each candidate to help make sure that decision is the right one.
5. How many interviews did you conduct last year?
A lot! I don't keep the precise numbers, but I would say we average something in the region of 1,000 interviews every year.
