TAKE 5 WITH ALEXEY
1. What is your role at Palta?
To begin with we did not have any clear division of responsibilities - we basically did everything. Each of us does what he knows best and we're not afraid to take responsibility. During my time here I have managed teams, dealt with partner financial issues, raised investment, and much more besides. Now I draw upon my experience to advise co-founders in any areas they may require support.

2. What is the key factor in a successful start-up?
The team. You need to put together a strong and motivated team from the very start to create a good product. The product may not always come out right away, but the team remains. For me, the ideal team combines people with real product, technical and marketing vision. If they are confident and focused on success, they will be able to attract like-minded people.

3. How do you personally support companies?
I have gained a lot of experience in communication with people – especially when we set up Servers.com. I often help out in negotiations with investors and founders during the fundraising or restructuring periods. And I try to answer any questions founders may have, from professional expertise to work-life balance.

4. What is your ultimate advice to founders?
Firstly, don't be afraid. If you have a vision and know you are moving in the right direction, everything will work out. Secondly, listen to sound advice. A fresh viewpoint, a new vision or a crucial insight can make all the difference.

5. What is the technology you dream would come to live?
Lately, I like everything related to longevity and health. So I'm glad that some of our Palta products are designed to help us to lead longer, healthier lives. For example, thanks to the SIMPLE application I lost a few pounds and feel much better for it.

What I would really love to see is a breakthrough in anti-aging drugs or technology. As a business angel I have invested in several companies that have conducted some interesting research and development in that area.
